2011

PENINSULA PLAZA shop premises in central Bangkok are secured for our first independant CADEAUX JEWELRY retail shop.
Soipetch and Philip source for manufacturers of fine gem carvings and objets d’art; Soipetch names her special collection GG TREASURE.

2010

CORUM and CADEAUX JEWELRY boutiques at ZEN, CENTRAL WORLD fall victim to arson during Bangkok riots. Calm returns in June.
Philip and his old “boss”, Andy Muller from Kobe Japan, agree to launch ANDY MULLER South Sea pearls in Bangkok.

2009

CADEAUX MAKE LOVE shop at ZEN in CENTRAL WORLD opened.

2008

The world financial meltdown takes its toll on the luxury trade.

2007

FABERGE jewelry & watch licencsee VICTOR MAYER appoints BAECHTOLD LIMITD as agent for Thailand. FABERGE has a rich and wonderful history in Thailand dating back to the 19th century.

2006

CORUM shop-in-shop opened at ZEN in CENTRAL WORLD.
Our company employs over 40 people, the majority in sales, and our distribution is focused on sales to individuals.

2004

CENTURY is added to our distribution portfolio to complement our business in the ladie’s watch segment, after we have maintained contacts with Philip Klingenberg, son of CENTURY’S founder, for 6 years.

2001

CADEAUX JEWELRY owner CADEAUX GINKGO AG of Switzerland signs a license agreement with BAECHTOLD LIMITED for the production and distribution of CADEAUX JEWELRY in Thailand, a diversification that launches us in the jewelry business and brings us back to our personal roots in the gems and jewelry trade.

2000

Severin Wunderman takes over the ownership of CORUM and launches highly unusual yet spectacular designs such as the BUBBLE and the JOLLY ROGER. Import duty drops back to 5% and expansion regains momentum.

1999

VENTURA founder Pierre Nobs lends us a hand to start the distribution of his avant-garde watch brand in Thailand, starting modestly.

1998

The Asian crisis halts our successful start-up. The IMF pressures Thailand to curtail consumption, in particular of luxury imports. The resulting 30% tariff, paired with a decline of the Baht’s value, makes importing prohibitively expensive. We let most personnel go and trim our operations to survival mode.

1997

Our new office building at 12/2 Phaholyothin 37, designed by Swiss architect Rolf Kaiser, is completed and our company moves into its definitive premises.

1995

The sale of luxury watches in department stores and at events in Thailand is successfully pioneered by BAECHTOLD LIMITED, setting in motion a trend that by 2011 will have pulled the most renownd brands of luxury watches into department stores.

1994

CORUM owner Jean-Rene Bannwart, son of the founder, appoints BAECHTOLD LIMITED sole agent for Thailand, setting the stage for a mutually exclusive relationship that gives both CORUM and us a strong footing in Thailand under a policy of selling and servicing the individual watch-buyers directly.

1993

Soipetch Resanond and Philip A. Baechtold establish BAECHTOLD LIMITED in October 1993 at its current locale in northern Bangkok. Chongkolnee Montri, Sersmsak Avasadakorn and watch-maker Manop Vitusuwan join our team. They are still with us..
