Corum, founded 1955 in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, by Rene Bannwart, is an extraordinary horological brand with high-quality watch creations of unmistakable innovative design and which are equipped with sophisticated mechanical movements. Four pillars mirror the creative history of CORUM: Admiral’s Cup, Bridges, Romulus and Artisans.
CORUM Golden Bridge AUTOMATIC: A New Era
CORUM Golend Bridge Automatic. With its innovative construction the exceptional mechanical Golden Bridge movement wrote watchmaking history from its first appearance in 1980. And again in 2011, for the first time an automatic version with a linear self-winding movement heralds a new era in the legend of this unique movement: Corum Caliber C0313.
Few mechanical movements have had such a significant impact on horological history as this beautiful baguette movement. The mainplate and bridges are made of 18Kt gold. The automatic linear-winding movement has been engineered over 4 year and has 194 parts. The oscillating weight is made of platinum. The movement runs at 28,800 bph. The barrel is miniaturized to match the vertical lines and feeds a 40-hour power reserve. The linear oscillating weight floats on PTFE Teflon coated rails, while the contacts are of beryllium copper. The case is tonneau-shaped, 37.2 x 51.8 mm, of 18Kt gold and curved to ensure comfort. Four antiglare sapphire crystals reveal the movement from all sides.
In 2011, the Golden Bridge Automatic is issued in a limited production 130 in red gold and 70 in white gold.
